How the Test Works

Before you learn a single fact about Australia, learn how the test itself is run and scored. This lesson covers the rules that decide whether your knowledge actually turns into a pass: how many questions you get and how they are chosen, how long you have, how many options each question offers, the two separate conditions you must both satisfy, what language the screen is in, what you may not use or refer to, and what happens if you do not pass.

Every point here is a rule about the test, not a fact about the country. That is also why the ten practice questions in this lesson are process checks. They are not part of your real score — but misunderstanding any of them on the day costs marks you never needed to lose.
